Junior Seau’s family, along with many NFL players are suing the NFL because supposedly the NFL hid from them the dangers of repeated blows to the head by opposing players. Talk about taking the Dumb Jock stereotype to its extreme. What idiot doesn’t know that repeatedly getting banged in the head isn’t a good thing. Can’t be a good thing. That the NFL didn’t have to tell anyone that concussions are bad and the more of them you get, the worse off you will be. That you might even get (drum rolls please…)—Brain Damage. It’s not a secret, really. Seriously, is there no longer such a thing as assumption of the risk. Is anyone ever responsible for what they do. Football is a barbaric game that no one should play. I like to watch it, but I’d be happy watching NFL flag football instead. For now on I’m suing people who bring stupid lawsuits. I think suing someone for bringing a stupid lawsuit should be a new tort action that anyone has standing to bring. It should be called the Stupid Suit action. And the damages awarded should be punitive. Maybe then we can put an end to people thinking they never ASSUME THE RISK for their choices.
