Why is it that when we are in a restaurant and we are done with our meal we ask for the check? A check is a good thing. It’s someone giving me money. Paying me. Maybe it’s wishful thinking. Perhaps we are hoping we will be mistaken for a food critic, and we will get paid to eat there or get a free meal. It’s a BILL, not a check. And if I don’t pay this BILL I can get arrested for theft or charged with my favorite name for a crime: Defrauding An Innkeeper AKA Obtaining Food Or Lodging With Intent To Defraud (FLA. STAT. 509.151).
So for now on: Bill, please!
