In England a man battered his girlfriend with a bottle of Steak Sauce by squirting the sauce in her face, and in Fayetteville a man attempted to steal a bottle of Barbecue Sauce from a customer in a Walmart parking lot. Apparently sauce bottles have now become the new weapon of choice, causing the NRA to lobby congress for a ban on the sale of sauce, or at least a three-day waiting period before a person can possess the sauce. But the NBA (National Barbecue Association) is vowing to block any such legislation.

Arrest Made In Attempted Barbecue Sauce Theft

Fayetteville police Monday arrested a man who attempted to steal a bottle of barbecue sauce from a customer on a Walmart parking lot, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County prosecuting attorney’s office. Ruben B. Juarez, 48, was putting items in his vehicle at the Walmart at 2875 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. at about 8 p.m. when the suspect, Steven Gregg, 37, approached and asked for money and barbecue sauce, the report states. When Juarez declined, Gregg, who was intoxicated, attacked him, the report states. Gregg tried to punch Juarez in the face and neck several times but did not make contact.Juarez was able to kick Gregg away from him and jump in his car, the report states. When Juarez drove off, Gregg chased him for a short distance. Gregg was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and robbery, the report states. –5NEWS staff member Lindsay Parks filed this story.
